Brian Carriere, a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), is married to Meridith with four children.


  • Bachelor’s of Science in HIstory from University of Southern Mississippi (USM)
  • Masters in Education with focus on History Education from Delta State University.
  • Masters in Political Science from USM.
  • Ph.D. candidate in international development at USM.

Professional Experience:

  • Public school teacher in Mississippi and Georgia 1998 – 2002
  • Full-time social studies instructor for MGCCC since 2003
  • Numerous academic publications and conference presentations in world history, American history, and political science.
  • Three-time Master Trainer at MGCCC
  • 2009 Instructor of the Year for the MS Humanities Council
